OUR HISTORY

Our family began its journey into the world of wine in the 1950s, when Giovanni (Giannetto) Lebole and his brother Mario bought a 200-hectare farm in Castiglion Fibocchi, near Arezzo, Tuscany, from Duke Amedeo of Aosta.

The original property was part of a fief known as early as 1039 and belonged to the Medici Tornaquinci family, later passing over the years to other noble families, including the Savoy Aosta family.

Mario and Giannetto, together with their parents Caterina and Attilio, implemented a grand agricultural plan by planting 90 hectares of vineyards based on innovative systems. It was the 1960s and the Lebole family, forward-thinking entrepreneurs, introduced new techniques in the vineyard, changing the planting system, in the fields using modern mechanical tools and in the winery, choosing selected yeasts and other winemaking techniques.

Thanks to Giannetto's passion for racehorses, the company was also the first in Italy to start breeding Italian and Argentine thoroughbred horses, which, thanks in part to his daughter Silvia, participated in high-level international competitions.

It was during the awarding of an Equestrian competition that Rodolfo and Silvia, the current owners met, forming a family to which they were joined by their children Laura, Sarah and Carlo, beginning a journey of life and love that continues to inspire the company's philosophy to this day.

Company that is family, work and deep respect for life and nature, which is also revealed in the choice of the company logo: the Awen a Druidic symbol represented by three inverted sun rays with the motto "Truth is life" adopted by Frank Ilyod Wright, their lifelong mentor.
