LA NOSTRA STORIA
Our family’s journey into the world of wine began in the 1950s, when Giovanni (known as Giannetto) Lebole and his brother Mario purchased a 200-hectare farm in Castiglion Fibocchi, near Arezzo in Tuscany, from Duke Amedeo of Aosta.
The original estate was part of a feudal property documented as far back as 1039, once belonging to the Medici Tornaquinci family. Over the centuries, it passed into the hands of other noble houses, including the Savoy-Aosta family.
With the support of their parents, Caterina and Attilio, Mario and Giannetto embarked on an ambitious agricultural plan, cultivating 90 hectares of vineyards with innovative methods. In the 1960s, as forward-thinking entrepreneurs, the Lebole family revolutionized vineyard practices by adopting advanced planting systems, using modern mechanical tools in the fields, and implementing cutting-edge enological techniques in the cellar, including the use of selected yeasts.
Driven by Giannetto's passion for racehorses, the estate also became the first in Italy to establish a breeding program for purebred Italian and Argentine horses. Thanks to his daughter Silvia’s involvement, these horses competed in prestigious international events.
It was during the award ceremony of an equestrian competition that Rodolfo and Silvia, the current proprietors, met and formed a family. Together with their children Laura, Sarah, and Carlo, they embarked on a shared journey of love and life, which continues to inspire the philosophy of the estate to this day.
The estate embodies family, dedication, and a profound respect for life and nature. This ethos is reflected in their choice of logo: the Awen, a Druidic symbol represented by three inverted rays of sunlight. Accompanied by the motto “Truth is life,” this emblem pays homage to their lifelong inspiration, Frank Lloyd Wright.
Rodolfo e Silvia e Sarah continuano a custodire questa terra, proteggendone storia e integrità.
